My name is Jeong Alexander. I am very excited to be teaching first grade at Southwest Elementary Global Academy! I was born and raised in Chuncheon, South Korea. In many ways, my hometown reminds me of Lexington because of caring families, friends, and most of all, teachers I have had the privilege of encountering. I previously lived in Louisiana and South Carolina before moving to North Carolina. I have been living in Lexington for over 20 years now. From early in my life, like in most families, I learned about the importance of education. I obtained a bachelor's degree in Computer Science before completing my degree and certification in Elementary Education at Greensboro College, in Greensboro, N.C. While attending Greensboro College, I worked as an assistant teacher for the Lexington City School system. I have been with the school system for the past twenty-two years. Teaching brings me so much joy and I feel privileged to be able to do so.

I am married, have three wonderful children, and have one beautiful granddaughter. I have a dog named Sammy and a cat named Lucy. I am an avid reader. I love to play the piano and paint in my free time. I have painted several pieces for the Lexington Multicultural Festival. I painted the "Pig In a Jacket" for the Lexington City School system in 2003. I enjoyed painting artwork based on the seven continents for Southwest Global Academy. I love working with children and my goal is to help my students reach their full potential. I am looking forward to working with all of you this year!

Mi nombre es Jeong Alexander. ¡Estoy muy emocionada de enseñar primer grado en Southwest Elementary Global Academy!

Nací y crecí en Chuncheon, Corea del Sur. En muchos sentidos, mi ciudad natal me recuerda a Lexington por tener familias cariñosas, amables y sobre todo maestros que he tenido el privilegio de conocer. Antes de mudarme a Carolina del Norte  viví en Luisiana y Carolina del Sur. He estado viviendo en Lexington por más de 20 años.  Desde muy temprano en mi vida, como en la mayoría de las familias, aprendí sobre la importancia de la educación. Obtuve una licenciatura en Ciencias de la Computación antes de completar mi título y certificación en Educación Primaria en Greensboro College, en Greensboro, Carolina del Norte. Mientras asistía a Greensboro College, trabajé como profesor asistente en el Sistema Escolar de la Ciudad de Lexington.  He estado con el sistema escolar durante los últimos veinte y dos años. La enseñanza me aporta mucha alegría y me siento privilegiada de poder hacerlo.

Estoy casada, tengo tres hijos maravillosos y una hermosa nieta. Tengo un perro que se llama Sammy y un gato que se llama Lucía. Me gusta mucho leer. Me encanta tocar el piano y pintar en mi tiempo libre. He pintado varias piezas para el Festival Multicultural de Lexington. Disfruté mucho pintando obras de arte basadas en los siete continentes para Southwest Global Academy. Amo trabajar con niños y mi objetivo es ayudar a mis estudiantes a alcanzar su máximo potencial. ¡Espero trabajar con todos ustedes este año!
