The “Be Somebody” Award recognizes hard work, good character, and individuals who go above and beyond expectations to make their school a better place to learn.

We are proud to recognize our "Be Somebody" Awards.  Thank you for all you do in LCS!

  • K. Reedy

Kenneth Reedy / Student / CEES

“Kenneth is the epitome of what a good citizen looks like.  He goes out of his way to greet people with a smile, and always has a kind word to say.  He stands up for those that are too afraid to stand up for themselves.  Along with being a good citizen, he is also a model student.  He always tries his best, asks questions when he is unsure, and is not distracted by those around him.  We are pleased to nominate Kenneth for the Bee Somebody Award. “

-Beth Callicutt (Paradis, Bryan, and LeBeau nominated)

  • Eleanor McElveen

Eleanor McElveen / Staff / SLDC

“Mrs.  McElveen has the sweetest spirit.  She loves the children and goes completely above and beyond for them.  She teaches the children to love themselves so they can love someone else.  There are not enough words to describe just how wonderful Mrs. McElveen is!”

    - Mrs. K. Lattimore

  • A. Sanchez

Allyson Martinez Sanchez / Student / SLDC

“The "Bee Somebody" award is given in the spirit by which Coach England lived his life and how he cared for as well as inspired students.  Allyson has the same spirit of excellence within her, which is on display everyday.  She helps others and doesn't mind sharing how much she knows and is able to do.  She demonstrated such excellence during the school board visit, in which she came dressed to impress, ready to greet all the board members present.  In addition, Allyson is a smart cookie, she knows more sight words than expected of which she is only required to know 49 she knows 54, placing her above grade level.  Her teacher Ms. Staub stated when asked about her "she is above grade level in everything and is a sweet young lady."  Her loving spirit is felt when you meet her.  This is why she is being nominated for this prestigious award, because she IS SOMEBODY!”
