Hello! Welcome to my web page. 

 My name is Garland Beamer, and I am the SparkLab Leader at LSHS. This innovative lab is home to a brand new technology-based curriculum offered to 9th and 10th grade students. During their time in the lab, students will be exposed to a wide variety of technology-related topics, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, software development, computer systems engineering, cybersecurity, E-sports, game development, and many more!

The SparkLab offers students the opportunity to gain one elective credit through the High-Tech Learning Accelerator, a new model of learning in North Carolina that allows students to focus on careers in technology! In order to gain the High-Tech Learning Accelerator credit, students must complete 8 units/modules within the course. I have always loved integrating technology into my classes, and truly believe these technologies can give students an incredible amount of resources at their fingertips to enable their academic success. I am incredibly excited to begin this new adventure as the SparkLab Leader at LSHS, and cannot wait to see the positive impact this new learning environment will have on our community!
